Hip Hop - Infinite Dance Crew
Infinite dance Crew is an all female hip hop crew based in Wellington. Formed in 2008, Infinite is now made up of twelve members, and has performed and competed all over New Zealand and Australia. Infinite are constantly pushing to grow as a crew and as individual dancers, while always hoping to share and inspire through their obsession that is dance.
Tango - Viva Latina Dance Company
Viva Latina Dance teaches several styles of Argentine Tango, ranging from the social saloon style to the more advanced show tango.
Feet with Heat 4dance is Wellington's Rock'n'Roll and Lindy Hop Swing dance studio.
Crows feet Dance Collective is an all-women contemporary dance group based in Wellington. Members range from 35 - 70 years, and include 6 dancing grandmothers. We perform a new work in public at least once a year and Jan Bolwell's choreography makes the most of our talents.
Irish - Kildunne School of Irish Dance
The dancers from the Kildunne School of Irish Dance learn solo and group dancing. They use both 'soft' and 'hard' shoes to perform the various dancers such as reels, jigs and hornpipes. Dancers prepare for local, national and international competitions. Several of our dancers have travelled overseas to compete in Australia, America and Ireland. The intricate footwork of Irish dance steps require dancers to be fit, dedicated and committed to regular practice.
Hip Hop - Scribble Dance Crew, Hutt Valley High School
Scribble Dance Crew from Hutt Valley High School, are a dynamic and energetic team with the passion to dance, have fun and entertain. Over the last two years they have performed all around the community from Saints Basketball games, Cultural festivals, to fundraising events as well as Christmas in the Park in front of 30,000 people. They are a national award winning team who are not afraid to give anything a go! Coached by Catherine Reid their goal for 2011 is to train hard and show everyone that anything is possible when you put your mind to it! Kia Kaka.
Salsa - Rafael Ferrer Noel, Cuban Fusion
Born in Cuba on the eve of Carnival, Rafael has dancing in his blood. From winning “best male performer” at his first international dance festival aged only 10, he went on to compete and perform in many festivals.Rafael performs and teaches a range of Afro-Cuban dance styles including Rumba, Son, Mambo, Cha Cha Chá, Cuban Salsa/Casino and Reggaetón, as well as Afro-Cuban Contemporary dance.
Chinese -New Chinese Friendship Association
Wellington New Chinese Friendship Association (WNCFA) was established in 1993 and its members are mainly recent immigrants from mainland China. One of the many activities held to strengthen ties between members is a dance group, focussing on Traditional Chinese Dance. Since 2003, this group of amatuer dancers has been meeting on weekends to learn dances from numerous Chinese ethnic minority styles. At this year's International Dance Day, the WNCFA dance group will be performing two different styles of dance. One Mongolian dance depicts life on the plateaus and mimics the movements of the majestic eagle; while the other is a XinJiang folk dance which tells a story about the beautiful girls from that region.
The New Zealand Academy of Bharata-Natyam is a training centre for Bharata-Natyam, one of the classical dance forms of South India. This dance style developed with aesthetic beauty and spiritual intensity in the temples of South India over thousands of years.The Academy runs classes in Wellington. A large number of enthusiastic pupils from diverse cultural backgrounds attend various courses at the Academy.

Instep Dance Studio
Insteps Dance Studio's senior Contemporary Dance Group perform. The studio also provides Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop classes to children strating from 3 years of age.
Fusion - Candy Heels Dance Crew
The studio started a year ago teaching Jazz to adults, it has grown and now teaches a variety of styles including commercial dancing, burlesque, pole fitness, freestyle and contemporary. In Upper Hutt there are women who love to dance and perform. Most of them have no dancing experience but enjoy it and have a natural raw talent.
Morris Dancing - White Rose of Wellington
White Rose of Wellington is a women's Morris dancing group. Morris dancing is a form of traditional English dancing where the dancers wear bells and use handkerchiefs, sticks or garlands. The style of dance varies from area to area around the country and White Rose perform dances in the Cotswold, North West, Border and Garland traditions. White Rose meets on a fortnightly basis, 2nd and 4th Tuesday in the month, 7.30pm at the Wellington Bowling Club in Brooklyn. New members and musicians are always welcome - no dancing experience is necessary.
Pop Burlesque - Pop Tarts from Danceforlife
If you've ever wanted to dance like the Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears or the girls from Burlesque the movie then this is the class for you. Its a hell of a lot of no pressure fun, with costumes, stage names and sexy choreography. Experience is not neccesary but laughter is encouraged as you learn how to stand, strut, pose and melt to some of the wickedest songs on the charts today.
Jazz - Move It Danceworks
Move It Danceworks is an Island Bay based dance school with classes available in jazz, tap and ballet. Classes are fun - although exams and competition work are available, they are not compulsory. Anyone from 3 years can join.
Brazilian - ZambaBem Dances and Capoeira Aruande
Performing Maculelê, Capoeira and Samba.Maculelê (Pronounced: mah-koo-leh-LEH) is an Afro Brazilian dance and a martial art where a number of people gather in a circle called a roda and use sticks or machetes. Regarding the etymology, it seems that macu comes from the Yoruba language spoken by the Nagôs (enslaved black people that spoke Yoruba), while lelê comes from the Malês' (enslaved black Muslim people who were literate in Arabic) language.
Capoeira is a Brazilian art form that encompasses Dance, Martial Arts, Acrobatics, Music and fun,with Professor Perere from Capoeira Aruande(http://www.nzcapoeira.co.nz/). Samba is one of them(the word SAMBA comes from SEMBA from ioruba/african language means navel and the original dance is done in a circle where a two people dances and one dancer wants to come in does a "umbigada or punga" that means touch the bellybutton with the bellybutton).
Integrated Hip Hop - JDK Dance Crew
JDK are Wellington's first integrated hip hop dance crew and a living example of the fantastic work being done to increase the visibility of dance for disabled people. The group is made up of kids with special needs, aged 10 to 18 years, they have been dancing together for just over a year. JDK thanks IDD for this opportunity to show everyone how much they love to dance!

With infectious sounds, tight moves and high-impact visuals, these girls are pumping! Pump has weekly dance classes for all ages and abilities at various locations throughout the city, there is something for everyone.
Russian - Khandallah Ballet Academy
Khandallah Ballet Academy Senior students together with guest artists are performing Dance Russe, a Russian style character piece to the music of Tchaikovsky. The music was specifically written for Swan Lake (Act III) but sadly is not often used today. In addition to Classical ballet, the studio offers American Jazz & Tap and Middle Eastern.
Zumba - Danceforlife
Zumba! Ditch the work out and join the party! Zumba is a latin-inspired dance-fitness program that blends red-hot international music, and contagious steps to form a "fitness-party" that is downright addictive. Join Hiria and the girls as they take you through a great aerobic and highly danceable beginners Zumba class. Its exercise in disguise!
